MEET ASHLEY OUTRAGEOUS
Florida native turned Bushwick resident, Ashley Ocampo aka Ashley Outrageous recalls the quote from our BWOB Alum, Tara Johnson that sealed the deal for her Brooklyn move. “Ma, I’m moving to Brooklyn!” is what the small girl with a huge personality recollected when she told us about reading our site. It was only a matter of time before she was featured.
Music was first, now it’s everything in and around music for Miss Outrageous. From being the director of digital media at TDE (Top Dawg Entertainment, aka SZA and Kendrick Lamar’s label), being friends with every relevant rapper, to working on collaborations with friends who are just as cool as her, to finding ways to help brands shine, Ashley hit the ground running the second she landed in Brooklyn. No signs of stopping anytime soon. —Sarah Kim
TAKE A GIRL FRIEND: DRYBAR
I like to call Dry Bar "Clutch Master Flex" because when I have those days where my hair looks crazy but I don't have a second to go home and fix it or do something myself, Dry Bar will hook you up quick! But even if my hairs not looking crazy and it's just a good ol' Friday afternoon, what girl doesn't like getting a nice blow-out? Let me also state that their line of hair care products has the most amazing scents ever! There's been numerous times I was asked what perfume I was wearing when it wasn't perfume at all, it was the Mai-Tai Spritzer spray I use to get that beach wave look :)
They also offer you wine and mimosas sooooooooo....

EAT: 983-BUSHWICK'S LIVING ROOM
Seriously, this place and their banana walnut pancakes have stolen my heart. It's only a few blocks from my apartment and throughout the past year of living here, it's low-key (or maybe high-key) become an addiction. Everytime someone has come to visit me, I've taken them here. It must be pretty serious if me and my roommates have to tell ourselves "no bushwick living room this week!" quite often right? So breakfast happens to be served all day and its delicious! But if you're not a breakfast person (I still don't understand how there are people who don't like breakfast like, what?!), their buffalo chicken and club sandwich are my favorites. Their signature mama's meat loaf is also fire and if you go for brunch, I'd recommend the eggs benedict, normal style.
Just realized I didn't list anything for vegetarians really but the way my appetite is set up....

THINK: JMZ TRAIN
I like this train simply because of the view when crossing over the Williamsburg bridge. Growing up in South Florida with a car, taking a train and seeing views of a city like that didn't exist to me. Although I've been here for over a year, I still take in that view every time.
TOURIST ATTRACTION: THE HIGH LINE
The High Line is another destination I really appreciate for its views and of course, people watching. I like to have alone time and/or time with a friend there to just walk, sit down, talk, think, clear my mind.... whatever it may be. I really enjoy it in the summer time as it's filled with people from all over and they have bites to grab from popsicles to tacos! People watching is for sure at the top of the list though. I've seen a kid throw a tantrum that was quite entertaining to a couple simply enjoying each others company...

DANCE: SOME COOL SH*T AND NOT TOP 40
Anywhere with a DJ that plays some cool sh*t and not Top 40. It could be a restaurant, rooftop lounge, or a random bar I happened to stroll by in the East Village.
Laughing at myself even listing this as a place but I mean, I really do like the store *blushing emoji*. Although at times they can be a bit overpriced (maybe like half the time lol), I always stop in because who ever coordinates the music playing throughout the store stays killing it and sometimes you just need a quick mid-day jam sesh in clothing store right?! I mean, I dragged my guy friends in there with me one day and out of no where Meek Mill came on. Automatically they said "Ok, we can dig this store." haha! I really do like the mixes they play so much that I've continuously asked where I can download them but they don't know.. wamp!

READ: MY ROOM
I've finally made it my own and feel comfortable enough where I can be at peace and ease my mind from everything to focus on what's there on paper.
TAKE A GUY FRIEND: POP UP FOOD MARKETS
Madison Square Eats, Broadway Bites, or any of those cool food vendors. 1. There are so many options and 2. What guy doesn't like to eat?
